Carlo Contin
Carlo Contin, Milanese, aged thirty-six, began his career as an interior designer at a remarkably young age. In 1998 he opened his own studio, which worked in a range of fields including furnishing, stand design, and the creation of objects and accessories. He received commissions for stands from a number of large multinational companies, such as Firestone, Unilever, Montedison, Shell, Yamaha and Legrand. His design creations have been selected for participation in many important international events. He exhibited at the Salone Satellite, part of the Milan Furniture Show, from 1999 to 2003; in 2000 he participated at the Swiss event �Designers Saturday�; in 2002 he took part in the Biennial Saint Etienne show and at the specialist show in Milan entitled �Designers� Units of Measure�; in 2003, again in Milan, he took part in the specialist event �Italian standards�. In 2001 and 2002 his work was shown in German, Dutch and Finnish museums. His designs have been manufactured, as well as by Slamp, by companies working in various sectors, such as classical and modern cutlery by Argenteria Galbiati, furniture and accessories in quality timber made by Ravarini Castoldi, and ceramic objects distributed by Nforniture.
